News Topical, Digital Desk : Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai paid a courtesy call on President Draupadi Murmu in New Delhi today. On this occasion, Chief Minister Shri Sai invited President Draupadi Murmu to attend the state-level tribal cultural festival "Bastar Pandum 2026" to be held in Chhattisgarh as the chief guest.
Chief Minister Sai, while apprising the President of the rich tribal art, culture, traditions, and folk life of the Bastar region, said that the Bastar Pandum is an important effort to preserve, promote, and publicize the state's tribal heritage at the national and international levels. The event will be held in three phases, with the final phase concluding in Bastar in February 2026.
Review of tribal development and public welfare schemes
On this occasion, Chief Minister Sai also briefed the President on the Chhattisgarh government's progress in the overall development of tribal areas, including education, health, livelihoods, infrastructure expansion, and public welfare schemes. He said that the state government is continuously working to integrate tribal communities into the mainstream of development while preserving their cultural identity.
President praised Bastar Pandum
President Draupadi Murmu praised this event related to tribal culture and wished for the successful organization of Bastar Pandum 2026. It is noteworthy that Bastar Pandum 2026 will showcase various cultural forms including folk dances, folk songs, traditional musical instruments, handicrafts, tribal cuisine, and costumes.
