News Topical, Digital Desk : In Bemetara, Chhattisgarh, the son of a local wholesale textile merchant ran over approximately 18 people with his Defender vehicle on Sunday evening, killing one person. Some people claim not one, but two or three people died. However, this could not be confirmed.
After the incident, the accused youth hid in his house. When people arrived at his house, the accused's father misbehaved with them. This enraged the people and they continued to vandalize the businessman's house until late at night.
The angry protesters alleged that the police patrol team escorted the accused to his home instead of taking him to the police station. They demanded the arrest of the accused and his family members.
At the time of writing, the police were unable to provide any further information. Angry people remained outside the accused's home until late at night.
