News Topical, Digital Desk : Chhath Puja 2025: Chhath Puja is dedicated to the Sun God and Chhathi Maiya. It is a grand festival of faith, purity, and strict discipline. Today is the third day of this four-day ritual, marking the auspicious time for offering Sandhya Arghya . This day is the most important and difficult part of the fast, when devotees offer Arghya to the setting sun. On this day, devotees and their families must follow certain rules. Let's explore those rules.
Don't do these 5 things during evening Arghya (Sandhya Arghya Don'ts)
- On the third day, the fasting person must not eat or drink a drop of water from sunrise until sunrise the next day. Breaking the fast midway means angering Chhathi Mata.
- When preparing prasad or arranging the arghya bowl, do not touch it without washing your hands if you are not fasting. Do not work with unclean hands, without bathing, or while wearing slippers when preparing prasad or handling puja materials.
- During the fast, the devotee should maintain a calm and virtuous mind. During the rigorous penance on the third day, it is forbidden to become angry, curse, or create a fighting atmosphere in the home. It is believed that this will negate the benefits of the fast and bring negativity into the home.
