There are many reasons for gas formation, such as drinking less water, not chewing food properly, eating food till the throat is full and consuming gas-producing foods. Therefore, it is important that gas is not allowed to form in the body. Chew food as much as possible. According to Ayurveda, it is better to use home remedies than gas medicines, this strengthens the digestive system. People who have constipation problems get more gas, so they should take more fiber-rich food.
Home remedies to get relief from gas
- Peppermint Tea – Peppermint can help relax the muscles of the gastrointestinal tract and reduce gas.
- Drink mint tea after meals.
- Chamomile tea- Chamomile has soothing properties that can relieve indigestion and gas. Drink chamomile tea before or after meals.
- Tea with black pepper- Tea with milk will harm you, in such a case, you should drink black tea by adding black pepper.
- Ginger Powder – Taking ginger powder with lukewarm water relieves gas.
- Hot compress- Hot compress on the chest provides relief. Heat a bottle and keep it on the chest for 15 to 20 minutes, or keep a hot towel. This improves blood circulation.
- Hot water- Hot water helps in removing gas, drink lukewarm water in the morning and night.
- Exercise and walking- Doing exercise and walking every morning keeps your digestion healthy. You should also take a light walk after eating. Doing pranayam prevents gas formation. Doing Pawanmukt Asana helps in proper digestion of food.
- Ginger- Ginger has anti-inflammatory properties that can help relieve gas and indigestion. You can drink ginger tea or chew a small piece of fresh ginger after meals.
- Vayu Mudra- Those whose nature is of air should practice Vayu Mudra. Join the index finger with the root of the thumb, this pressure releases the gas.
- Deep Breathing- Practice deep breathing daily, box breathing is very beneficial in this.
- Cumin or carom seeds- The easiest way to remove gas is to mix carom seeds or cumin seeds with salt and chew them. Eat them after or before meals, both of these help in digesting food and removing gas.
