News Topical, Digital Desk : The CBI has arrested the absconding suspect in the attack on the Edhi team that visited the home of then Trinamool Congress leader Shahjahan Sheikh in Sandeshkhali, North 24 Parganas district last year. His name is Abul Hasan Mollah, alias Duronto.

He was arrested in the South 24 Parganas district, adjacent to Sandeshkhali. He was involved in the attack on an Enforcement Directorate (ED) team in Sandeshkhali in January 2024.

Accused arrested for attacking ED in Sandeshkhali

According to the CBI's Special Crime Branch (ACB) team, Mollah had consistently evaded investigation and failed to appear despite CBI notices. A non-bailable warrant had also been issued against him by the court.

Mollah was absconding for several days and was arrested by the CBI based on a tip-off. Suspended Trinamool Congress leader Shahjahan Sheikh is currently in jail in connection with the attack.
