News Topical, Digital Desk : A young man was stabbed to death during an altercation following a collision between two vehicles in Dhandhuka town, Ahmedabad district. The other stabbed man was from the Muslim community.
Following the incident, people set fire to several shops and vehicles. The incident sparked communal tension in the town, but police acted swiftly and brought the situation under control.
Ahmedabad Rural Superintendent of Police Om Prakash Jat said that on Saturday morning, an altercation broke out between Lala Bhai Gamra, a youth from the Bharwad community, and a Muslim youth after the vehicles collided.
People from both communities gathered at the scene. Meanwhile, a Muslim youth stabbed Lala Bhai, resulting in his death. Enraged, the crowd vandalized several shops and vehicles in the town and then set them on fire.
The situation in the town became very tense for a short time. The Ahmedabad District Superintendent of Police arrived with a heavy police force and brought the situation under control. Police have so far arrested 15 accused in the case.
