News Topical, Digital Desk : Unknown gunmen killed a polio worker on the outskirts of Peshawar, the capital of Pakistan's Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. Police said on Saturday that the attack took place on Friday during a polio eradication campaign in Urmar village, a suburb of Peshawar.

The attackers who escaped

The polio worker killed in the attack was identified as Shoaib Ali, police said. He died at the scene. The attackers fled after carrying out the attack.

An FIR has been filed in connection with the incident. No group has yet claimed responsibility for the attack. Earlier on Wednesday, suspected militants abducted three polio workers in Bannu district.
