News Topical, Digital Desk : In Madhya Pradesh, along with the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the voter list, the house numbering of voters will also be corrected. For this purpose, the Chief Electoral Officer of Madhya Pradesh will write to the municipal corporations and local bodies of the state. This work is also possible at the local body level. Local bodies will provide the Election Commission with information on house number corrections.
In fact, Congress has raised objections, claiming significant discrepancies in house numbers. Many houses have incorrect numbers or no numbers at all. A single residence may have the names of more than 10-15 voters. Therefore, a separate declaration should be taken from the BLO responsible for verifying these houses.
There will be improvements in house numbering.
When preparing the voter list, no house should have a zero number. For this, the administration should assign new house numbers. The Election Commission will now number the houses accordingly. Political parties have also demanded that voter count forms be filled out and distributed in Hindi.
Election Officer's letter to bodies
Among political parties, Congress has demanded that BLOs who have been working in the same area for a long time be transferred through exchange. Voters' current photographs should be obtained by BLOs and included in the voter list. Voter lists should be linked to Aadhaar cards.
Political parties have suggested revising house numbers and assigning new ones. We are considering how this can be done. We may also seek the help of local bodies on this issue.
