Patna: Doctors' protest against the Kolkata doctor murder case continues. Doctors from across the country have been protesting and staging demonstrations for the last eight days to get justice for their colleague and to ensure the safety of doctors.
Talking about Bihar, doctors of all the four major hospitals of Patna, AIIMS Patna, IGIMS, PMCH-NMCH have been on strike for the last one week. Doctors are on strike in most of the hospitals of the state.
OPD services have been closed for the last one week. However, emergency services are restored. Senior doctors are performing emergency operations in the emergency-trauma.
Pappu Yadav gave a controversial statement
Meanwhile, Purnea MP Pappu Yadav has raised questions on the doctors' strike. He alleged, "The doctors went on strike and killed 12 people. Who is responsible for this massacre?"
Pappu Yadav asked, "If doctors are found to be involved in the Kolkata gang rape, will all doctors take responsibility for that rape?"
He asked, "Why does the same doctor community get upset when there is a rapist?"
IMA wrote a letter to the Speaker of the Lok Sabha
The Indian Medical Association Bihar branch has strongly condemned this statement of Pappu Yadav. Former national president of IMA Dr. Sahajanand Prasad Singh and convener Dr. Ajay Kumar said that if the doctors are found guilty in the gang rape, then the protesting doctors will take responsibility for it.
Dr. Ajay Kumar said that if Pappu Yadav does not apologize, IMA will open a front against him. He said that a complaint has been made by writing a letter to the Lok Sabha Speaker.
