News Topical, Digital Desk : Police have uncovered that conversion-related activities in Chhattisgarh are being conducted from Rajnandgaon district.

The investigation revealed that the secret network of missionaries run by David Chacko had prepared a calendar-based plan not only for the immediate future but also for the next four years.

The plan was divided into days, weeks and months, so that conversion activities could be carried out in a phased manner in different districts and areas.

Such documents were recovered during police interrogation and investigation of documents.

Police interrogations and document scrutiny have uncovered documents detailing a three- to four-year plan. These documents specify which areas will be meeting in which month, which dates workshops will be held, and which days meetings, prayers, or outreach campaigns will be held.

According to sources, dates for meetings throughout the state were pre-determined throughout the year. The accused, David, was scheduled to hold several meetings in Surguja and Bastar, among other areas, to discuss network members and manage funding.

According to police officials, David purchased a solar projector from the United States to show movies in remote areas, which is not available in India and costs lakhs. Police are currently interrogating David on charges of illegal conversion.

Opposition to burial of converted woman

Villagers and Hindu organisations staged a massive protest on Saturday over the funeral of 85-year-old converted woman Jorbai Sahu in Navagaon-Kandel village of Dhamtari district in Chhattisgarh.

Following tensions in the village and strong opposition from villagers, the family was forced to bring the body to the Dhamtari district headquarters, where the last rites were performed at the Christian community cemetery. The villagers insisted that if the funeral were to be held in the village, it should be conducted according to Hindu customs, otherwise the body should be taken out of the village.
