Lucknow News: The people of Uttar Pradesh will no longer have to visit departmental offices to increase the load in their electricity connections. On the instructions of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Limited (UPPCL) has now made the entire process of increasing the load online. That is, now consumers will be able to increase the load of their electricity connections while sitting at home.

UPPCL Chairman Dr. Ashish Kumar Goyal gave this information during a review meeting held at Shakti Bhawan. He gave clear instructions that consumers should not face any problem in increasing the load and everyone should be given this facility as soon as possible.

Application will be done online only

Now no application will be accepted at the departmental counter for increasing the load. Consumers will have to apply only by visiting www.uppcl.org or 'Jhatpat Portal'. Apart from this, this facility can also be availed from Jan Suvidha Kendras. Documents required for increasing the load such as bond, B&L form, no objection certificate from Directorate of Electrical Safety and contract letter etc. will also be accepted online.

Arrangements for multi-storey buildings and colonies as well

Due to increased electricity consumption, multi-storey buildings and residential colonies in big cities now require special load. In view of this, the approval process of bulk load has also been made completely online. This new system will come into effect from May 1, 2025. Under this system, processing fee, document upload, payment of deposit and supervision fee, payment of estimate amount and load approval – everything will be done online.

Big decision in consumer interest

Power Corporation Chairman Dr. Goyal said that this will eliminate the need for consumers to visit the office repeatedly. The process of increasing the load will become simple, transparent and time-bound.

The number of electricity consumers in the state is increasing rapidly. In rural and urban areas, from small shopkeepers to big businessmen want to increase the load of their connections. Earlier, a lot of running around was required for this and the files were stuck for many days. In such a situation, this online process is going to give great relief to the consumers. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has already said many times that every service in the state will be made transparent and time-bound. In this sequence, this initiative of UPPCL is being considered an important step towards the goal of 'Digital Uttar Pradesh'.
