News Topical, Digital Desk : The body of a 21-year-old college student was found in a rented room owned by a woman named Manasa in Bengaluru. Police suspect it to be a case of murder.

The deceased has been identified as Devishree, a final-year Bachelor of Business Management (BBM) student at Acharya College. Police suspect a man named Prem Vardhan of strangulating or suffocating Devishree to death.

The man ran away after locking the room from outside

Officials said Prem and Devishree arrived at the rented room around 9:30 a.m. and stayed there until 8:30 p.m. He then allegedly locked the room from outside and fled.

How did you get information about the murder?

The incident came to light after Jayanth T. (23), a native of Andhra Pradesh and currently living in Bengaluru, filed a complaint at the Madanayakanahalli police station. Police registered a case under Section 103(1) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

Police have launched a search for the absconding Prem. Police sources confirmed that they have found important leads and are trying to arrest him as soon as possible.
