News Topical, Digital Desk : A case of molestation of a foreign woman has come to light at Bengaluru's Kempegowda International Airport. Mohammad Affan Par, a ground staff member of Air India SATS, has been arrested for allegedly molesting a Korean woman.
The accused allegedly threatened the woman with missing her flight and, under the pretense of a luggage problem, took her to a secluded area and sexually assaulted her. Based on CCTV footage, airport police have taken the accused into custody. The company has also taken action and dismissed him with immediate effect.
What is the whole matter?
In her complaint to the police, the Korean woman stated that she was at the airport on Monday, January 19th, waiting to board a flight to Korea. After completing immigration, she was heading towards the terminal. A male employee, identified as Mohammad Affan, approached her and asked for her flight ticket. He then claimed there was a problem with her checked-in baggage and that it was making a beeping sound.

Affan allegedly told her that going back to the regular screening counter would take time and could cause her to miss her flight. He insisted that he be screened separately and led her to the men's washroom. Affan allegedly touched her inappropriately despite her objections. When she resisted, he allegedly hugged and hugged her and left.
Police arrested
The woman immediately reported the incident to airport security. Police then detained the suspect and began an investigation. Police examined CCTV footage and witnessed Affan's heinous behavior. Based on the Korean woman's complaint, further investigation is underway.
Air India SATS called the incident "inexcusable" and said it had dismissed Affan. Air India said it deeply regrets the mental anguish caused by this incident and is providing all possible assistance to the passenger.
