News Topical, Digital Desk : In Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh, the administration's crackdown on associates of Maulana Tauqeer Raza continues. In this sequence, on Tuesday afternoon, the Bareilly Development Authority (BDA) began demolition proceedings at two large marriage halls, Aiwan-e-Farhat and Good Marriage Hall, located in Sufi Tola. The owners of both buildings are said to be associated with influential local figures, one with direct ties to Samajwadi Party leader Azam Khan and the other to Maulana Tauqeer Raza Khan.

According to reports, the Aiwan-e-Farhat marriage hall belongs to Sarfaraz Wali Khan, who is considered close to Azam Khan. The Good Marriage Hall is said to be owned by Rashid Khan, a close associate of Maulana Tauqeer Raza. BDA sources claim that both marriage halls were built without approved maps, and demolition orders were issued for them in 2011. These orders, long buried in files, have now been reactivated and taken the form of action today.

The first bulldozer was used on Aiwan-e-Farhat

The first bulldozer to hit Aiwan-e-Farhat in Sufi Tola was the site of the demolition. Two bulldozers were deployed, and in the presence of a heavy police presence, the BDA team began demolition. Despite initial protests, the police's strictness has allowed the operation to proceed without interruption. Meanwhile, action is expected to be taken soon against the Good Marriage Hall, for which teams are already prepared.

Action continues after the uproar

This action is also being linked to the recent riots in Bareilly and the ongoing crackdown against its main accused, Maulana Tauqeer Raza Khan. Previously, the administration had bulldozed several properties belonging to his close associates.

It should be noted that following the uproar in Bareilly over the I Love Mohammad incident, the local administration is continuing to crack down on Tauqeer Raza and his close associates. Tauqeer Raza remains in jail.
