News Topical, Digital Desk : Cases of technical faults in Air India aircraft are being reported continuously. In the latest case, an Air India flight from Hyderabad to Mumbai was stopped on Friday due to technical fault and was later cancelled. There were 92 passengers on board this aircraft. Sources said that after a technical fault was detected in the aircraft, the passengers were deboarded. After this, the passengers were sent by another Air India aircraft.

Delhi-Pune flight also cancelled

Earlier on Friday, a Delhi-Pune flight was cancelled after a bird hit the plane on reaching Pune. The plane was stopped for investigation. Earlier, many other flights have been cancelled due to technical reasons.

Air India cancels 8 more flights

Air India on Friday cancelled eight other flights, including four overseas flights, citing operational reasons. The move comes amid a nearly 20% drop in bookings. Tata-owned Air India said it has arranged accommodation for affected passengers and is offering refunds or other flights for cancelled flights.

Why did Air India's bookings decrease?

Travel industry experts have attributed this to last week's plane crash in Ahmedabad. The accident involved Air India flight AI-171, a London-bound Airbus A320-200, which crashed shortly after takeoff from Ahmedabad on June 12. The plane, carrying 242 passengers and crew, crashed into the medical college campus, killing all but one passenger.
