News Topical, Digital Desk : A horrific road accident occurred in Nandyal district of Andhra Pradesh. A bus and a container lorry collided violently. The impact was so severe that the bus caught fire. Three people were killed and several others were seriously injured.
The incident occurred around 1:30 a.m. last night. The bus was traveling from Nellore, Andhra Pradesh, to Hyderabad, Telangana. Suddenly, the right tire burst, causing the bus to lose control. It hit a divider and then collided with an oncoming container truck.

The container truck was carrying motorcycles. Both the bus and the truck caught fire after the massive collision. After the fire broke out, passengers were rescued by breaking the bus windows. Many passengers jumped out of the windows to save their lives.
3 people including the driver died
Firefighters arrived at the scene as soon as they learned of the incident. They brought the fire under control within a few hours, but by then it was too late. The fire was so intense that both vehicles were completely destroyed. The bus and truck drivers, along with a sanitation worker, were killed in the incident. The bodies of all three have been sent to a government hospital for post-mortem examination.
The condition of 4 people is critical
There were 36 passengers on board the bus at the time of the accident. Four of these passengers sustained serious injuries and have been admitted to the government hospital in Nandyal district. Police are investigating the accident at the scene. Initial investigations indicate a tire burst as the cause of the accident.
Second accident in 3 months
However, this isn't the first time a bus fire has occurred. In October 2025, a bus caught fire in Kurnool, also in Andhra Pradesh, killing 20 passengers. This second fire in three months has raised questions about passenger safety in the state.
