News Topical, Digital Desk : US President Donald Trump said on Thursday that the US has signed an agreement with China. During this, Trump also announced in a subtle manner that the US is soon going to make a 'very big deal' with India as well.
Speaking at the Big Beautiful Bill event, Trump said in his speech about trade deals, “Everybody wants to make a deal and be a part of it. Remember a few months ago the press was saying, is there really anybody interested in this?”
Trump's statement on India
"We just signed one with China yesterday. We are doing some great deals and we are going to do another deal, probably a very big deal with India," the US President said.
"Not every other country will be dealt with, we won't deal with everybody. Some people we'll just send a letter and say thank you. You have to pay 25, 35, 45 percent. That's the easy way to do it and my people don't want to do it that way. They want to do some deals, but they want to do more deals than I do," Trump stressed.
America's deal with India
"We are doing some great deals and we are going to do another deal where we are going to open the doors for India. In the deal with China, we are going to open the doors for China," the US President said.
He said, things that could never have happened and we have had good relations with every country. Although Trump did not give details of the deal with China, a White House official later confirmed that the agreement was focused on expediting rare earth shipments from China to the US.
What did the White House official say?
The US administration and China have agreed on an additional understanding for a framework to implement the Geneva agreement, the official said, according to a Reuters report.
It is aimed at overcoming delays caused by Chinese restrictions on critical minerals and magnets, which have significantly impacted US industries including the automotive, defence and technology sectors, he said.
