Amarnath Yatra: Kathua administration in alert mode, geared up on every front, instructions to avoid mistakes:

News Topical, Digital Desk : Amarnath Yatra: The Kathua district administration reviewed the preparations for the Amarnath Yatra. In a meeting chaired by Deputy Commissioner Dr. Rakesh Minhas on Thursday, department-wise arrangements for the Yatra were discussed. The Deputy Commissioner directed the officials to expedite the pending works and complete all the arrangements on time for the convenience of the pilgrims. He directed to avoid any kind of lapse in view of the expected huge crowd this year.

Arrangements will be made for pilgrims in Lakhanpur

The district administration has decided to build a 24x7 Yatri Suvidha Kendra in Lakhanpur for the convenience of the pilgrims. It will have 6 RFID counters. These counters will give RFID tags to the registered pilgrims. This will reduce the crowd in Jammu base camp. Apart from this, 36 centers have been prepared across the district for the stay of the pilgrims in case of weather or emergency. Nodal officers have been appointed in all the centers, who will make arrangements for food, accommodation, drinking water, electricity, toilets.

Cultural programs will be organized

The Deputy Commissioner stressed on comprehensive plans for drinking water, electricity, sanitation, medical aid, traffic management and security arrangements. All departments were instructed to maintain coordination and complete the preparations. Cultural programs will be organized at Lakhanpur on the inauguration day and during the Yatra period, so that the pilgrims can be warmly welcomed.

The meeting also discussed setting up of a centralized control room, disaster management, quality of langar food, cleanliness on the Yatra route and anti-polythene measures. The Deputy Commissioner also gave guidelines to the representatives of the langar committee regarding installation of CCTV. Many officials including ADC Kathua Vishwajeet Singh, SDM Hiranagar Phulail Singh were present in the meeting.

Railways made arrangements for the devotees

Let us tell you that the railway has provided accommodation facility for the passengers arriving at Jammu railway station near the station itself. Not only has accommodation been arranged for the passengers, but their registration is also being done there.
