News Topical, Digital Desk : Political activity is escalating in Uttar Pradesh regarding the 2027 assembly elections. Meanwhile, Samajwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav said on Sunday (April 19) that his party will return to power in Uttar Pradesh after next year's assembly elections. He expressed confidence that the opposition alliance will remain united. He also targeted the BJP.

SP President Yadav was in Rewari, Haryana, to attend a wedding. He targeted the Bharatiya Janata Party, saying it was going to lose the ongoing assembly elections, including in West Bengal. 

India alliance will remain intact – Akhilesh Yadav

Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of the event, Yadav, responding to a question about the possibility of contesting the Uttar Pradesh elections in alliance with the Congress, said, “The India alliance will remain, and the Congress will be with us. For us, the issue isn't the number of seats, it's the ability to win. Those who can win will get tickets.”

BJP's politics is of 'divide and rule' - Akhilesh Yadav

Earlier on April 19th, at the party headquarters in Lucknow , Akhilesh Yadav launched a scathing attack on the ruling BJP, saying the Women's Reservation Bill should not be discussed until the census is completed. He said, "In reality, the opposition is the voice of the people. The BJP's politics is based on a divide and rule strategy."

'BJP is trying to divide women voters too'

The former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister said, "First, distrust is created among the people, then they are divided into different groups and pitted against each other, and finally, support is gained by using fear. The BJP is also trying to create divisions among women voters. Women are now aware and will respond to such politics on issues like inflation, exploitation, and social pressure."
