News Topical, Digital Desk : The Miss India 1994 pageant will forever be remembered as one of the most historic Indian beauty pageants. Miss India 1994 not only gave the world two Indian beauties but also simultaneously crowned Miss Universe and Miss World. Sushmita Sen and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan received these titles in the same year.
Will Aishwarya Rai win the competition?
Both made India proud on the global stage. Now, filmmaker Prahlad Kakkar has made a shocking revelation about the contest. He revealed that before winning Miss India and going on to compete for Miss Universe, Sushmita was convinced that Aishwarya would win the crown.
Sushmita Sen was angry with herself
In an interview with Vicky Lalwani, Prahlad Kakkar, who launched Aishwarya Rai in a Pepsi commercial, revealed that Sushmita Sen was disappointed that the Miss India contest had already been skewed in her favor. Prahlad said that since Sushmita was still a no-name, while Aishwarya was a "Lakme Girl" and a top model, she felt like a newcomer. Sushmita felt that too much attention was being given to Aishwarya, leading her to cry in the changing room.
Prahlad had explained this thing
Then Kakkar went to her changing room and explained things to her. Sushmita said, "I'll never win. I feel cheated." Kakkar then explained, “It's not like that. You're mistaken. Look at the jury. You think they'll listen to anyone. No one can buy them. You give your best performance, and she won.”
Why did Aishwarya lose?
Prahlad Kakkar stated that, contrary to most reports at the time, there was no rivalry between Aishwarya Rai and Sushmita Sen. However, Aishwarya was deeply saddened after losing the Miss India crown to actress Sushmita. According to the filmmaker, Sushmita won Miss India because she was more cultured and confident than Aishwarya. Prahlad explained that Sushmita, having studied in a convent school, was able to answer the questions very well, while Aishwarya was not fluent in English.
