News Topical, Digital Desk : 41 years ago when India's first astronaut Rakesh Sharma went on a space journey, the then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi had asked him how our India looks from there? In response to this Rakesh Sharma had said - Saare Jahan Se Achcha... Similarly Shubhanshu Shukla is currently travelling in space.
While talking to Prime Minister Narendra Modi through video link from the International Space Station, Shubhanshu said that India looks very grand and big from here. The feeling of unity in diversity seems to be realized.
Shubhanshu shared his unique experiences in the space station
In a 17-minute conversation with Prime Minister Modi on Saturday, Shubhanshu not only shared his unique experiences but also shared his views on the proud feeling of the tricolour being hoisted on the space station for the first time and India moving forward. He told PM Modi that it is a very new experience. Such things are happening which show the direction in which our India is moving.
The Prime Minister also encouraged Shubhanshu
The Prime Minister also encouraged him and called upon him to become a partner in India's future resolutions related to space. At the end of the conversation, when the Prime Minister raised the slogan 'Bharat Mata Ki Jai', Shukla also said 'Bharat Mata Ki Jai' in response.
The Prime Minister enquired about his well-being
While wishing Group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla, the Prime Minister asked about his well-being. Shubhanshu was overwhelmed by this. He said- This short journey of 400 kilometers from Earth to orbit is not only my journey but also the journey of my country. When I was young, I could never imagine that I could become an astronaut. But I feel that today's India under your leadership gives this opportunity and also gives a chance to make those dreams come true. This is a very big achievement for me and I feel very proud that I am able to represent my country here. 'Did you feed the carrot halwa that you have taken with you to your colleagues?'
By asking this, the PM probably tried to make Shubhanshu realise how closely the PM was keeping track of the preparations for his journey. The Indian astronaut said that he is seeing 16 sunrises and sunsets in a day. This process is very amazing.
He also said that the speed of his journey is 28 thousand kilometers per hour. Linking it to the pride of India, he said that this shows how fast our country is progressing. From here we have to go further.
The Prime Minister exclaimed- Wow…
On hearing this, the Prime Minister exclaimed - Wow! Then he asked - What was the first thought that came to your mind after seeing the vastness of space? On this, Shubhanshu told that when we reached space for the first time, the first view was of the Earth. On seeing the Earth from outside, the first thought that came to mind was that the Earth looks exactly one. No boundary line is visible from outside.
Second thing, we see and read India on the map that how big are the size of other countries and how big is India? That is not correct because we draw a 3D object on a 2D paper. India really looks very grand and big. Much bigger than what we see on the map. The feeling of unity in diversity seems to be realized.
PM said you are the first Indian to go to International Space Station
PM mentioned that you are the first Indian to go to the International Space Station. You have worked very hard. You have gone through long training. Now you are in space. How different are the conditions there? How are you adjusting?
Sleeping is a big challenge
On this, he shared his experience that everything is different here. I trained for a year, knew about all the systems and processes, but as soon as I came here, everything changed suddenly. Our body gets used to living in gravity. Everything is decided by it. But here even small things become very difficult. While talking to you, I have tied my legs, otherwise I will go up. Sleeping is a big challenge. You can sleep anywhere on the roof, wall or ground.
On the PM's request, he gave a message to the young generation that we have seen very bold and high dreams about the direction in which India is moving today. We need all of you to fulfill those dreams.
PM Modi said this about Gaganyaan
In the end, PM Modi shared India's resolve with them and said that we have to take Mission Gaganyaan forward. We have to build our own space station. We also have to land an Indian on the moon. Your experience will be very useful in all these missions. India is going to open the doors of new possibilities of space for the world. Now India will not just fly, but will prepare the platform for new flights in the future.
