News Topical, Digital Desk : The Airports Authority of India (AAI) has issued strict guidelines regarding construction work around Jolly Grant Airport in Dehradun. According to the AAI, any construction within a 20-kilometer radius of the airport requires a mandatory No Objection Certificate (NOC). Unauthorized construction will be considered a serious threat to aviation safety.
The AAI clarified that these guidelines were issued with the safety of passengers and aircraft in mind. Tall buildings, towers, or other structures around airports can pose risks during takeoff and landing. Therefore, violating these rules is not only a safety hazard but also a criminal offense.
Strict action will be taken against those who build without NOC.
According to the AAI, Section 9A of the Aircraft Act, 1934, requires prior permission for any construction within the designated area around an airport. Under this rule, those constructing without an NOC can face strict action, including demolition, fines, or other legal action.
People should take permission from the authority before construction work – Administration
The airport administration has appealed to builders, landowners, and the general public to obtain permission from the relevant authorities before beginning any construction. For convenience, an online application facility for NOC has also been made available, allowing people to complete the process easily.
No leniency will be shown against those who do not follow the rules.
The AAI says that in many cases, people violate the rules due to lack of information, which later leads to problems. In light of this, this warning has been issued to prevent any future lapses. The administration has made it clear that no leniency will be shown towards those who violate the rules. Passenger safety is a top priority and no compromise will be made on this issue.
