News Topical, Digital Desk : The CBI court in New Delhi has delivered a significant verdict in the 2015 murder case of software engineer Ankit Chauhan in Noida Sector 76, Uttar Pradesh. On Monday, the CBI court sentenced Shashank Jadon and Manoj Kumar, convicted of Ankit Chauhan's murder, to life imprisonment. The court also imposed a fine of ₹70,000 on Shashank Jadon and ₹50,000 on Manoj Kumar. Let's explore the entire case.

What is this whole matter?

The entire case dates back to April 13, 2015, when Ankit Chauhan, a Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) employee, was shot and killed in his Fortuner car. The killers were unknown at the time. Later, on the victim's family's appeal, the Allahabad High Court handed over the investigation to the CBI, which registered a case on June 14, 2016. During the investigation, the agency uncovered the entire conspiracy behind the crime and arrested Shashank Jadon on June 1, 2017, and Manoj Kumar on June 2, 2017.

The charge sheet was filed in 2017

The CBI filed a charge sheet against both accused in this case on August 29, 2017, on charges of murder, attempted robbery, conspiracy, and destruction of evidence. Later, on August 2, 2019, the Supreme Court transferred the trial from Ghaziabad to Delhi.

Justice was delivered after 10 years

After years of trial, the court convicted both accused, Shashank Jadon and Manoj Kumar, on September 20, 2025. And now, on October 13, 2025, both have been sentenced to life imprisonment. The verdict in this nearly 10-year-old case has brought relief to the family of the deceased.
