News Topical, Digital Desk : Significant news is emerging from Valsad, Gujarat. During the construction of a bridge over the Auranga River, a girder was damaged, causing the bridge to collapse. Five workers were trapped. Rescue operations began immediately after the incident.

The incident reportedly occurred around 9 a.m. when scaffolding, used to construct a slab between two bridge pillars, collapsed. Five workers were seriously injured and buried under the debris.

Upon receiving information about the incident, the Valsad Fire Department and police arrived at the scene. Rescue teams rescued four workers and took them to the hospital. All the injured are currently undergoing treatment.

One employee is still missing

Meanwhile, the search continues for one worker who is feared trapped under the debris. Fire and police teams are conducting a war-like effort to find the missing worker.

Investigation into the incident begins

According to Bholabhai Patel, sarpanch of the Pardi-Sandhpur Gram Panchayat, a slab of iron rods was supposed to be built between the last two pillars of the bridge, but one pillar slipped, causing the entire bridge to collapse. An investigation has been launched into the incident to determine whether the bridge was being constructed according to quality standards and why the structure collapsed.
