Women are often seen drowning in a deep ocean of depression. It is a serious mental health problem that affects not only women, but the entire society. The symptoms of depression in women can be similar to those of men, such as sadness, insomnia, changes in appetite, fatigue and lack of concentration. But are there other causes of depression in women? Absolutely! As the disease progresses, symptoms like sadness, social introversion, anger and irritability in nature, feeling like crying, aversion to sexual relations appear. In the more acute or chronic stage, lack of personal cleanliness and hygiene, insomnia, loss of appetite and suicidal thoughts appear. In this way, the patient starts getting completely disappointed with life.

 

Raja and Tama defects are the reason

Acharya Charak has described mental diseases in Mania Rogadhikar, in which he has described Raja and Tama etc. defects as the root cause of depression. Although the treatment of depression in women is usually done like that in men, but here special attention is paid to the removal of the basic cause. The patient is counseled by taking the husband of the sick woman or any other family member or friend into confidence.

 

Prevention is the best solution

Keeping in mind that women's hormones are very helpful in maintaining mental balance. While treating depression, changing the patient's daily routine and lifestyle is an important point. - Regular exercise as per your capacity reduces stress.

 

  • Special attention should be paid to diet; caffeine, alcohol, and heavy and slow-digesting foods should be avoided.
  • Today the ancient Indian methods of yoga and meditation are being seen all over the world as solutions for stress relief and good health.
  • Often people stop taking medicines after experiencing some relief from depression, which may lead to recurrence of the disease.
  • Many times depression is related only to the attitude of the patient. In such a situation, Ayurveda inspires every person to develop positive thinking.

Depression can attack any person at any time in life. It should not be treated as a matter of sadness but should be treated properly and this formula is effective for both men and women.
