New Delhi. Weather Update Today: Many parts of the country are experiencing intense and scorching heat. However, on Saturday, Delhiites got some relief from the heat. Dust storm and light drizzle brought a change in the weather of Gurugram, Ghaziabad and Delhi.

At the same time, the torture of heatwave and heat is still continuing in Rajasthan. The temperature here has reached above 50 degrees. According to the Meteorological Department, heatwave is likely in many states for the next few days. Heatwave is likely in Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Bihar, Jharkhand and Odisha.

Orange alert for rain for these 6 states

Apart from this, the Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert of heavy rain in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Sikkim, Meghalaya, West Bengal and Kerala on June 2. As the southwest monsoon moves towards the Arabian Sea and Bay of Bengal Lakshadweep, its effect will be seen on Kerala, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu in the next two days. The IMD has forecast light rain, lightning and strong winds in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, West Bengal, Sikkim and Tripura till June 8. 

There will be heavy rain in Bihar-Jharkhand

Bihar, West Bengal, Odisha, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh and Goa may receive rain till June 6 and Maharashtra till June 5. Apart from this, according to the weather bulletin, heavy rains are expected in Odisha on June 2.

These states have no respite from heatwave

The weather department report said that severe heat wave is likely in Haryana and Punjab on June 2. Apart from this, the IMD has warned of heat wave in Delhi, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Bihar and Odisha on June 2, while heat wave will also occur in Uttarakhand and Jharkhand till June 3. Heat wave is likely in Rajasthan on June 4 and 5.
