Praveen Darekar had raised the issue in the Legislative Council
Let us tell you that during the Nagpur session of 2024, Praveen Darekar had raised this issue in the Legislative Council. Businessman Sanjay Punmiya claimed that he has a clip of a sting operation, in which former ACP Sardar Patil is talking to whom, in which he says that there was a preparation to get Devendra Fadnavis and Eknath Shinde arrested by filing a case against Parambir Singh, Sanjay Punmiya.
Shekhar Jagtap had knocked the door of the High Court
The then public prosecutor Shekhar Jagtap had approached the Mumbai High Court to quash the FIR lodged at Mumbai's Colaba Police Station and Thane Nagar Police Station in Thane district. Intervening in that petition, the complainant in the Thane Nagar Police Station case, Sanjay Poonia, through his lawyer Rizwan Merchant, intervened in the Mumbai High Court opposing the petition to quash the FIR. During this, a video was also presented in the court.
This video is allegedly of former ACP Sardar Patil, in which he is claiming that this case was registered under the pressure of the then Mahavikas Aghadi government, the motive behind which was to arrest Eknath Shinde and Devendra Fadnavis. Thane city police had registered an FIR against former Mumbai Police Commissioner Sanjay Pandey after a complaint by businessman Sanjay Punmiya.
Punmiya had alleged that Pandey had misused his position to initiate illegal investigation against him and extorted money from him and other businessmen by threatening to file a case against them.
Against whom the case was registered on Punmiya's complaint
Along with Pandey, retired ACP Sardar Patil, police inspector Manohar Patil, lawyer Shekhar Jagtap and builder Shyamsundar Agarwal and two members of his family were also booked based on Punmiya's complaint. Agarwal was once a business partner of Punmiya, the complainant in the case.
Punamia has alleged that two other police officers - Sardar Patil and Manohar Patil - acted at the behest of builder Agarwal and two of his family members, Shubham Agarwal and Sharad Agarwal, while lawyer Jagtap prepared a government document and misled the court by calling himself a special public prosecutor. The police registered this FIR under sections 166 (A), 170, 193, 195, 199, 203, 205, 209, 352, 355, 384, 389, 465, 466, 471, 506 of the IPC.
