New Delhi. Silver Snake Significance: It is very important to follow many rules while building a house. It is believed that following the rules of Vastu Shastra while laying the foundation of the house is very fruitful. Silver snakes and urns are placed in the foundation of the house, but do you know why this is done and what is the secret behind it? Let's know about it in detail.

That is why silver snakes are kept

It is mentioned in the fifth chapter of Shrimad Bhagwat Mahapuran that there is Patal Lok (underworld) under the earth and its lord is Sheshnag. Therefore, a silver snake is placed in the foundation of the house. It is believed that Sheshnag always protects the property and the house.

You get these benefits

  • Placing a silver serpent in the foundation of the house brings blessings from Mahadev and brings happiness and prosperity in the house. According to Vastu Shastra, a pair of serpents helps in getting rid of Vastu defects.
  • Keeping a pair of Naag-Nagin in the foundation of the house prevents the evil forces from affecting the house. It also protects from evil eye.
  • Apart from this, there is always positive energy in the house.
  • If you cannot keep silver snakes, then you can also keep brass snakes.

That is why the urn is kept in the foundation

  • It is believed that Brahma, Vishnu and Mahesh reside in the Kalash. Kalash is also kept while laying the foundation of the house. Coins, flowers and milk are put in it, which is dear to the serpent god.
  • According to religious beliefs, Sheshnag lives in Kshirsagar. That is why during the foundation puja, a Kalash is kept in which a lotus is kept.

Sheshnag is invoked by offering things like milk, ghee and curd etc. so that he can protect the house.
