New Delhi: Alia Bhatt, who has given hits like Gangubai Kathiawadi, RRR and Gully Boy, has also won the National Award for her excellent performance. After the success of Rocky and Rani Ki Prem Kahani, people were waiting for her next film Jigra, which released in theaters on 11 October. 

Jigra was an action thriller film directed by Vasan Bala and produced by Alia Bhatt along with Karan Johar. The movie was announced last year and after a year's wait, the movie hit the theatres. There was a lot of buzz about the film, but the results were negative. The movie could not do much business.

Jigra opened its account at the box office with 4.55 crores. Alia Bhatt's film benefited from the first weekend, but the earnings were badly affected during the weekdays. According to Saknilk, the film has done a business of only 23 crores within a week, while Vicky Vidya's Woh Wala Video has earned 27 crores.
