Hyderabad. Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) has opened a front against the attacks on Hindu temples in Telangana. The organization accused the Congress government of Telangana of negligence. Vishwa Hindu Parishad will hold a statewide protest today i.e. on 19 October. Cases of vandalism of idols of Hindu deities have been reported at two places in Telangana's capital Hyderabad.

Police have registered a case in both the cases. On the other hand, BJP demanded a probe by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) into the incident. Many other religious organizations also expressed anger over these incidents. VHP national spokesperson Vinod Bansal said that protests will be held at all the district headquarters of Telangana.

Many religious organizations protested

In the month of October, two cases of vandalism of idols were reported in Hyderabad. Many religious organizations including BJP protested against the incident. Local people also registered their protest against the vandalism in the temple. Union Minister and Telangana BJP President G Kishan Reddy also visited the Muthyalamma temple. He said that some people are deliberately trying to create tension in Hyderabad.

First incident: Broken statue in Nampally

The first case of damage to Hindu idols came to light in Nampally Exhibition Ground under Begum Bazar Police Station in Hyderabad. Here the idol of Maa Durga was vandalized in the Puja pandal. Police say that the incident was carried out by a vagabond. However, he did not do it intentionally. He was hungry. He had gone to take out prasad in search of food. Then the idol was damaged by mistake. However, BJP leaders demanded a detailed investigation of the incident.

Second incident: Muthyalamma temple was targeted

The second incident took place in Mondal division of Secunderabad. A person vandalized the Muthyalamma temple located here. Local people protested against the incident. BJP state president and Union Minister G Kishan Reddy also visited the temple premises. The people nearby caught a person and handed him over to the police. The accused has been identified as Salman Salim Thakur. According to Hyderabad Police, Salim had come to Hyderabad this month to participate in a personality development workshop. BJP demanded an NIA investigation into the incident.
