UP 10 University declared Defaulter: UGC has declared 157 universities as defaulters, including 10 universities of UP from Lucknow to Jhansi, which have been declared defaulters by UGC. Lokpal has not been appointed in these universities, due to which UGC has taken this action.

Apart from UP, 7 universities from Madhya Pradesh, 4 from Andhra Pradesh, 3 from Bihar, 5 from Chhattisgarh, 1 from Delhi, 4 from Gujarat, 7 from Rajasthan, 1 from Sikkim, 14 from West Bengal, 2 from Haryana, 1 from Jammu and Kashmir, 4 from Jharkhand, 13 from Karnataka, 1 from Kerala, 7 from Maharashtra, 2 from Mipur, 1 from Meghalaya, 11 from Odisha and 2 from Punjab have been declared defaulters.
