Sirohi News: The NDPS court in Sirohi, Rajasthan, while giving an important verdict, has sentenced the accused of smuggling to rigorous imprisonment along with a financial penalty. Special judge of the court Rupa Gupta has convicted two accused of smuggling and sentenced them to 10 years of rigorous imprisonment each. Along with this, a fine of two lakh rupees each has also been imposed.
What does the special public prosecutor say
Special Public Prosecutor Dr. Laxman Singh Bala said that on the morning of 7 December 2012, the then police station in-charge of Barloot in Sirohi district, Devi Chand Dhaka, received a confidential information that a truck loaded with opium milk was being sent from Madhya Pradesh to Jalore via Jawal. During the blockade in the police station area, the lock on the box-like lid behind the driver's side of the truck was found.
During investigation, the keys of the truck were found with a youth named Om Prakash who was travelling in the truck. When Om Prakash opened the lock, a black coloured liquid was found in a transparent plastic bag. On examination, it was found to be opium milk. When he was asked about the valid documents and license, no valid proof was found. Upon weighing five sacks in the box, 51 kg 200 gram of opium milk was recovered. Along with confiscating the opium milk, the police arrested both the youths. After investigation, both the accused were produced in the court along with the charge sheet.

During the arguments in the court, the court agreed with the arguments and evidence presented by the public prosecutor Dr. Laxman Singh Bala. Special Judge of NDPS Court Rupa Gupta gave an important verdict and sentenced Jaitaram son of Harjiram and Omprakash alias Prakash son of Kasaram, residents of Kotda Police Station Karda District Jalore, accused of opium milk smuggling, to 10 years of rigorous imprisonment and a fine of two lakh rupees each. Bala strongly presented his side in the court in the entire case.
