Tirupati Temple Prasad: It has come to light that animal fat and fish oil are used in the Prasad available in Tirupati temple of Andhra Pradesh. After which there has been a controversy over the Prasad. There is anger among the saint community and Hindus on this matter. But, this is not the first time that questions have been raised about the Prasad of Tirupati temple. There has been a lot of controversy about it even four decades ago. After which it was claimed that the Prasad of the temple is made using scientific method.
Actually, a retired officer from Lucknow had raised questions about the Prasad available in Tirupati temple. According to Hindi newspaper Amar Ujala, this officer had told that he had bought Laddus from the Prasad Bhandar of the temple. When he brought the Prasad home, there was mold and a nail in it.
Lucknow official had complained.
This news was published prominently in the newspaper, after which there was an uproar. At that time, there was a lot of uproar in the Andhra Pradesh assembly on this matter. After which there was a debate in the Andhra assembly on the ghee used to make these laddus. After which it was decided that from now on, the prasad will be prepared in a scientific way.
When the investigation of this case progressed, it was found that ghee for the temple prasad was purchased from Andhra Pradesh Milk Federation at the rate of Rs 42 per kg. After this controversy, the then Chief Minister NT Rama Rao ordered to buy ghee for laddus from Andhra Milk Federation. However, 18 employees were removed from work by the temple. Even after this, there have been frequent controversies regarding laddus.
Politics has also heated up in this matter. Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu had accused the previous YSRCP government of using substandard material in the Prasad. It has been claimed that this has been confirmed in the lab report as well. While BJP has called it a tampering with the faith of Hindus, the opposition party has denied these allegations.
