New Delhi. Only a few hours are left for the counting of votes for Lok Sabha elections 2024. Counting of votes will start from 8 am on Tuesday (June 4), the Election Commission has completed all the preparations for this.

Security has been tightened across the country to prevent any untoward incident before the counting of votes. Ahead of the counting of votes for the Lok Sabha elections 2024, Delhi Police has made tight security arrangements in the most sensitive areas of the city.

Intensive patrolling and checking operations in Connaught Place area

Delhi Police security personnel are conducting intensive patrolling and checking in the Connaught Place area. Apart from this, the North-East Delhi District Police has increased security in the area along with paramilitary forces. Security personnel are conducting intensive patrolling and checking in Delhi's Nand Nagri, Seelampur, Dayalpur, Sonia Vihar and Bhajanpura areas. At the same time, security has been increased at the counting center in Srinagar before the counting of votes.

Security has been beefed up at counting centres in Mumbai too

On the other hand, before the counting of votes, security has been increased at the counting centers in Maharashtra's capital Mumbai. SSP Ajay Singh of Uttarakhand's capital Dehradun inspected the security arrangements in the area late at night before the counting of votes. He said, "Paramilitary forces have been deployed at the counting centers. No one will be allowed entry without a pass. All arrangements have been made as per the guidelines of the Election Commission."
