Amaravat:. Three people were killed and 11 others seriously injured in two firecracker-related accidents in Andhra Pradesh. One person was burnt alive and six others were seriously injured in a firecracker explosion on Thursday. The incident took place in Eluru city when a man was carrying firecrackers in a bag on his two-wheeler.
A bag full of bombs fell on the ground
According to the police, a bag full of 'onion bombs' fell on the ground when the motorcycle hit a pothole on the road near Ganganamma temple. The bike rider died when the firecrackers exploded. Six other people were injured in this accident. The injured were admitted to the government hospital in Eluru.
Second accident in less than 24 hours
Police said that the condition of two people is said to be critical in this accident. The body of the deceased was shattered into pieces. He has been identified as Sudhakar. Police have registered a case and started investigation. This is the second accident in less than 24 hours in the state.

A person present at the spot said that the explosion was so powerful that the entire area was filled with dark brown smoke and pieces of paper were flying here and there. As soon as the smoke cleared, two people who had somehow escaped from the explosion reached a safe place. There they saw that the bike and body parts were scattered far and wide.
A huge explosion took place in a firecracker factory
Two women were burnt alive and five others were seriously injured when a fire broke out at a firecracker manufacturing unit in West Godavari district on Wednesday evening. The fire broke out after a lightning strike at a firecracker factory at Suryaravapalem in Undrajavaram mandal during heavy rain and thunderstorm. The lightning created a huge fireball and loud explosions occurred, causing panic in the village. Sixteen employees were working at the unit and two of them were women who were burnt to death.

The deceased workers were identified as V. Srivalli (42) and G. Sunitha (35). Five others who were seriously injured were admitted to the Tanuku Government Hospital. Nine workers suffered minor injuries. According to the police, Ram Shivaji was running a firecracker manufacturing unit and had a license for it.
