New Delhi. Tirupati's ISKCON temple received a bomb threat on Sunday. The temple authorities have lodged a complaint with the police that they have received a threatening email, claiming that ISIS terrorists will blow up the temple.

Tirupati police immediately took action and launched a search operation. The local police checked for any explosives with the help of bomb disposal squad and dogs. However, no explosives or any other objectionable item was recovered from the temple premises.

Circle Inspector Srinivasulu confirmed the news and assured that proper and necessary efforts are being made to identify those responsible for the threats. Police suspect that this could be another fake mail.

This is the fourth fake mail received by Tirupati temple in the last three days.

Tirupati Superintendent of Police L Subbarayudu said, "When we received the complaints, we acted immediately and our team conducted a thorough investigation. But they (fake email threats) turned out to be fake. We are registering cases and these are being investigated." A senior police official of the district said the cases were being investigated with the help of the cyber crime branch.

Earlier on Saturday, two hotels had also received bomb threats, which were later confirmed to be fake. Earlier, three other hotels in the city had also received bomb threats, raising concerns among residents and pilgrims.

Unknown people threatened through email that if the ransom demand of $ 55,000 (Rs 4,624,288) is not met, the hotels will be blown up. The bomb threat email reads, "Bombs have been hidden in black bags in the premises of your hotel. I want $ 55,000, otherwise I will explode. Blood will spill everywhere. No attempt to defuse the bombs will be successful."

The threat allegedly mentioned drug trafficking network kingpin Jaffer Sadiq, who was arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau and the Enforcement Directorate in Tamil Nadu.

After the FIR, investigation into the case was started.
