Lucknow. 55 faces representing Uttar Pradesh in the 17th Lok Sabha will not be seen in the House this time. The reason is that these 55 faces include those former MPs who either did not get a ticket from the party or they lost the election. Eight-time MP Maneka Gandhi will also not be seen in the House now. Although she became an MP in the year 1989, but she lost the election of the 10th Lok Sabha in the year 1991.

Then in the year 1996, she kept winning continuously from the 11th to the 17th Lok Sabha elections. This time she has lost the election from Sultanpur. Along with Maneka, her son Varun Gandhi will also not be seen in this Lok Sabha. BJP had denied him ticket from Pilibhit. Another veteran, eight-time MP Santosh Gangwar's ticket was denied by BJP this time. However, BJP's Chhatrapal Singh Gangwar made lotus bloom in Bareilly seat.


Sonia Gandhi did not contest from Rae Bareli. Her son Rahul Gandhi contested from here and won by a huge margin. Sambhal MP Shafiqur Rahman Barq passed away recently. His grandson Ziaur Rahman contested from this seat on a SP ticket and won. SP MP HT Hasan from Moradabad did not get a ticket. Ruchi Veera contested from SP and won.

Prof. Rita Bahuguna Joshi's ticket from Allahabad was cancelled and given to Neeraj Tripathi and he lost the election. Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, who is facing allegations of sexual exploitation of female wrestlers, will also not be seen in the House this time. BJP gave ticket to his son Karan Bhushan Singh in place of him from Kaiserganj seat and he won. Seven ministers of the NDA government lost the elections.

Among them, Union Minister of State Ajay Mishra Teni from Kheri, Union Minister Smriti Irani from Amethi, Union Minister of State Kaushal Kishore from Mohanlalganj, Union Minister of State Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti from Fatehpur, Union Minister Mahendra Nath Pandey from Chandauli lost the election. Union Minister of State Bhanu Pratap Verma from Jalaun and Union Minister of State Sanjeev Baliyan from Muzaffarnagar lost the election. Former Chief Minister Kalyan Singh's son Rajveer Singh Raju Bhaiya lost the election from Etah. BJP had cut VK Singh's ticket from Ghaziabad.

Only these 25 MPs will be seen in the Lok Sabha this time too

Only 25 MPs of 17th Lok Sabha will be seen in 18th Lok Sabha. These include Prime Minister Narendra Modi from Varanasi, SP's Dimple Yadav from Mainpuri, BJP's Bhola Singh from Bulandshahr, BJP's Satish Gautam from Aligarh, BJP's Hema Malini from Mathura, BJP's SP Singh Baghel from Agra, BJP's Arun Kumar Sagar from Shahjahanpur, BJP's Jai Prakash from Hardoi, BJP's Ashok Kumar Rawat from Misrikh, Sachchidanand Hari Sakshi Maharaj from Unnao, outgoing Defense Minister Rajnath Singh from Lucknow, Mukesh Rajput from Farrukhabad, Devendra Singh Bhole from Akbarpur, BJP's Anurag Sharma from Jhansi, SP's Ram Shiramani Verma from Shravasti, who had earlier won from BSP.

BJP's Jagdambika Pal from Dumariyaganj, BJP's Kirti Vardhan Singh from Gonda, BJP's Pankaj Chaudhary from Maharajganj, BJP's Ravi Kishan from Gorakhpur, BJP's Vijay Kumar Dubey from Kushinagar, BJP's Kamlesh Paswan from Bansgaon, BJP's Rajkumar Chahar from Fatehpur Sikri, Dr Mahesh Sharma from Gautam Buddha Nagar, SP's Afzal Ansari from Ghazipur, who was earlier a BSP MP, and Apna Dal (S) national president and Union minister of state Anupriya Patel from Mirzapur are included.
