The Aam Aadmi Party on Sunday alleged that a conspiracy is being hatched to assassinate Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, who is lodged in Tihar Jail. Despite having sugar, he is not being given insulin injections. Delhi Minister and AAP leader Saurabh Bhardwaj said in a press conference, 'Not only in India, but the international media is also watching how the central government can conspire to kill an elected Chief Minister. The DG of Tihar Jail wrote to AIIMS yesterday that we need a diabetologist (diabetes specialist). This completely exposed the BJP. Till yesterday they (Tihar Jail Administration) were saying that we have specialist doctors and insulin is also available. Arvind Kejriwal is lying.

Saurabh Bhardwaj said, 'There is a general doctor present in the jail. I don't know how he has been appointed there, all these manipulations are being done on his recommendations and the Chief Minister elected by the people of Delhi is being deprived of insulin. Arvind Kejriwal's version is that he has been suffering from diabetes for 20 years and has been on insulin for the last 12 years. He takes 50 units of insulin daily. His diabetes can be controlled only with insulin. He needs it in jail, but insulin is not being given. He said that if insulin cannot be given then please allow consultation with my doctor on video call. But the Tihar Jail administration refused this also.

Delhi Minister said, 'Tihar Jail is under the Central Government. The administration there is saying that Arvind Kejriwal does not need insulin. There is no need to see a doctor. Will give insulin when it is needed. Till yesterday we were saying that we have all the specialists. Hospital, clinic, beds, insulin, everything is present in the jail. Kejriwal is lying. But yesterday Tihar Jail administration wrote a letter to Delhi AIIMS asking it to send a diabetes expert. If a person is a high diabetic then he always keeps something sweet or toffee with him. The sugar level of a diabetic patient suddenly decreases. Arvind Kejriwal's sugar level had reached 46 while in ED custody. But he is not being given medicine.

Delhi's LG calls the claims about Kejriwal a lie

Earlier on Saturday, in a statement issued from the office of Delhi Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena, Aam Aadmi Party's claims regarding Arvind Kejriwal's diabetes were refuted. The statement said, 'Whatever story is being created by the Aam Aadmi Party regarding Kejriwal's health is based on his treatment in a private clinic in Telangana.

Arvind Kejriwal was on insulin reversal and the doctor had stopped the insulin dose long before his arrest. He was taking an anti-diabetic tablet metformin. According to the medical report of RML Hospital, Kejriwal was neither advised to take insulin nor was told the need for it. It is wrong to say that the Tihar Jail administration refused to give insulin to Arvind Kejriwal at any time during his treatment.
