Mumbai: In the case of bomb threat on Air Arabia flight from Kozhikode to Abu Dhabi on October 28, Karipur police has arrested a person named Ovingal Mohammed Ijas, 26, from Palakkad, Kerala. The accused had allegedly threatened to cancel the flight through email.

The accused was caught with the help of cyber cell

According to the police, 'Ijas sent an email from his personal account to the director of Kozhikode airport at around 5:10 pm claiming that a bomb has been planted in Air Arabia flight 3L204. The plane should not be allowed to take off. The airport authorities immediately informed the police and with the help of the cyber cell started investigating the threat and tracked and detained him.

Izus wanted to cancel the flight

During interrogation, Ijas admitted that his intention was only to abort the flight. However, police officials have said that they are investigating all possible angles to see if there are other reasons for the threat. Investigation has also been initiated regarding the accused's involvement in other bomb threats.

House of accused of fake bomb threats searched

In Nagpur, police on Monday searched the house of Jagdish Shriram Uike. Uike is accused of sending bomb threat messages to airports, railway stations and planes. Uike (35) surrendered before the police on October 31. Police officials said that the team of Cyber ​​Police Station searched the house in Arjuni Morgaon for five hours and also questioned relatives and friends.

Airlines troubled by threats

For the past few days, the airlines of the country are constantly receiving bomb threats. In the investigation, most of the threats were found to be fake. But due to this, while on one hand the airlines have to bear losses, on the other hand the passengers have to face trouble. All the agencies of the center including the IB are engaged in investigating the threat case. Its links with foreign countries are also visible. Meanwhile, the central government is preparing to amend two laws. Under this, there is a plan to ban the air travel of people who give fake bomb threats.
