New Delhi. Referring to the attack on former US President Donald Trump, the BJP has alleged that in India the INDIA alliance and Congress are making similar violent statements against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP workers. BJP national spokesperson Shahzad Poonawala said on Monday that the question arises that what was the situation in a democracy like America that led to this political violence and how such a hateful and violent atmosphere was created.
He said that attempts are being made to repeat the same in India. Criticising the opposition in a post on X, Poonawala alleged that India, especially the Congress and its allies, are propagating a violent narrative like the US against PM Modi and BJP workers. The opposition has spread the illusion that if the BJP government remains in power, the Constitution will be abolished, democracy will end and elections will not be held.
Congress retaliated to BJP's allegations
The Congress on Monday attacked the BJP for alleging that Rahul Gandhi had encouraged violence against Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Congress leader Pawan Khera said that cheap politics should not be done on the issue of security of leaders.
He alleged that Prime Minister Modi and the entire BJP are inciting people against the Congress leadership by spreading lies against Jawaharlal Nehru, Indira Gandhi and the entire family. Earlier on Sunday, BJP IT cell chief Amit Malviya had said that Rahul Gandhi, who has failed for the third time, has often encouraged and justified violence against Prime Minister Modi. How can India forget that during the Congress government, the Punjab Police deliberately compromised the security of the Prime Minister when his convoy was stuck on a flyover.
