According to sources, the Divisional Commissioner and DIG of Jhansi have submitted the report to the CM. The reason for the fire has been stated in this report. According to sources, the cause of this fire is an electrical accident. The top officials of Jhansi had to submit the report to CM Yogi within 12 hours.
According to the report, after investigation and information, it was believed that this was not a criminal conspiracy. The fire in NICU started due to the fire from the switchboard. There was no sprinkler in NICU. The main reason for not having a sprinkler was that water facility in the ward of very small children is not considered medically correct. That is why an alarm was installed.
There is no mention of any conspiracy in the report. This incident has been considered an accident. On the other hand, the state government on Saturday announced financial assistance of Rs 5 lakh each to the parents of the deceased. An official of the Uttar Pradesh government gave this information.
What did the Yogi government say on the incident?
In a statement issued by the Uttar Pradesh government on Saturday, it was said that the Chief Minister of the state Yogi Adityanath has expressed deep sorrow over the incident that took place in the NICU of Jhansi Medical College. He has also ordered a three-tier inquiry into the incident. Prime Minister Narendra Modi also expressed grief over the deaths of the children and announced a compensation of Rs 2 lakh to the families of each deceased.
Addressing an election rally in Phulpur, Prayagraj on Saturday afternoon, Yogi Adityanath said that a fire caused by a short circuit in the NICU of Jhansi Medical College led to a painful tragedy and 10 newborns died. He said that to ensure that other children are saved, we remained awake all night coordinating relief and rescue efforts and that is why there was a delay in reaching here. Police and administration are working continuously.
