New Delhi. The first session of the 18th Lok Sabha is going to start from Monday amidst the unhappiness of the opposition parties on many issues including irregularities in examinations, appointment of pro tem speaker. It will continue till July 3. The oath will be administered by the senior member of the House Bhartruhari Mahtab appointed to the post of pro tem speaker and his fellow presiding officers. However, before this, the President will administer the oath to the pro tem speaker of the Lok Sabha.

Draupadi Murmu will address both the houses

Opposition parties have protested against the appointment of a member of the ruling party to the post of Protem Speaker and have said that there were more senior members in the House, who should have been given this responsibility as per the rules. In this first session of the Lok Sabha, which will last for about ten days, the election for the Lok Sabha Speaker will be held on June 26. On June 27, President Draupadi Murmu will address the joint session of both the houses of Parliament.

After this, there will be a discussion on the motion of thanks on the President's address in both the houses from June 28. During this, Prime Minister Narendra Modi can respond to the discussion on July 2 or 3. According to the Lok Sabha Secretariat, the session will begin with the oath taking of the members of the 18th Lok Sabha from Monday.

PM Modi will take oath

During this, the pro tem speaker will first administer the oath of a member of the House to Prime Minister Modi. After this, the MPs supporting the chair will be sworn in. After that, ministers and other members will be sworn in. On the first day of the session, about 280 members will be sworn in, while the rest of the members will be sworn in on the second day. The oath is administered according to the state on the basis of name. That is, the MPs from states starting with A are sworn in first.

Changes will be seen in the house

The scene of the House in the 18th Lok Sabha will also be different this time. The opposition, which was limited to a few benches in the House till now, will be seen in a very strong position in the Lok Sabha this time. This time its total number will be 234. Out of these, 99 members are from Congress alone. The number of ruling party members in the House will be 293, out of which BJP alone will have 240 members.

The opposition may attack Agniveer and irregularities in the exam

In the Lok Sabha session starting from Monday, the opposition will not fail to show its increased power this time. This is the reason why the opposition can show an aggressive stance on issues like examination irregularities, Agniveer and Protem Speaker before the session. It can also try to corner the ruling party in the election of the Lok Sabha Speaker. Anyway, it is already engaged in instigating the allies of the ruling party to demand the post of Lok Sabha Speaker.
