New Delhi: After assuming office for the third consecutive term, Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited seven countries including Russia, Ukraine and Poland within the 100 days of the government's tenure and attended several important meetings.
Describing the government as successful on the global diplomatic front, the Ministry of External Affairs said that in his third term, PM Modi first participated in the G7 Leaders Outreach Meeting in Italy. In July, at the invitation of President Vladimir Putin, he visited Russia and participated in the 22nd Indo-Russian Annual Summit.
First visit of Indian PM to Poland in 45 years
In August, he visited Poland, the first visit by an Indian PM after 45 years. In August itself, he visited Ukraine at the invitation of war-torn Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelensky, the first visit by an Indian PM. In the first 100 days of his third term, he also visited Singapore and Brunei.
Along with this, the PM hosted the third Voice of Global Summit, in which 173 personalities from 122 countries registered their presence. He inaugurated the 46th session of the World Heritage Committee in India and showed Indian cultural diplomacy by including Maidam of Assam in the UNESCO World Heritage.
The President also made several visits
In August, President Draupadi Murmu went on a national visit to Fiji, New Zealand and Timor-Leste. Meanwhile, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar visited UAE, Qatar, Sri Lanka, Kazakhstan, Mauritius, Maldives, Kuwait, Singapore, Saudi Arabia, Switzerland and Germany.
