BJP MP Tejasvi Surya has created history by completing the Ironman 70.3 Triathlon Challenge. He has become the first MP in the country to achieve this feat. The 70.3 Triathlon Challenge held in Goa includes 1.9 km swimming, 90 km cycling and 21.1 km running. Tejasvi completed these three segments in 8 hours, 27 minutes and 32 seconds. The total distance is 113 km.

1200 participants from all over the world took part in this challenge. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has congratulated Surya for this achievement. The Prime Minister posted on X, "Commendable achievement! I am sure this will inspire many youngsters to take up fitness-related activities." Surya completed the 1.9 km swim in 57:24 minutes. Cycled 90 km in 4:06:41 hours. He completed the half marathon in 2:56:30 hours.

'I trained to improve my fitness'

Earlier, in 2022, Surya completed a 90 km cycling segment as part of a relay team. Surya posted on Instagram, Over the last four months, I have trained to improve my fitness. Happy to share that I have completed this challenge!

Surya credited the Fit India Movement for the inspiration to complete the challenge. He urged the youth to adopt fitness activities and a healthy lifestyle. The Fit India Movement was launched by PM Modi with the aim of making fitness an integral part of daily life
