Stand-up comedian Kunal Kamra had recently made some objectionable comments against Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde. The comedian got into trouble because of his comments.

Tanmay Bhatt reacted on the controversy

Now a few days later, his industry colleague Tanmay Bhat has reacted to the controversy. Recently, Tanmay Bhat shared a video on his YouTube channel, in which he is seen talking to comedians Rohan Joshi, Aditya Kulshreshtha and Kaustubh Agarwal. Tanmay started by saying that it was "an interesting week for comedy. Tanmay told that after Kunal Kamra's protest, he started getting many calls and messages and people started asking him whether he is right or not.

What was the reason for the uproar?

After this Aditya jokingly says that he is surprised to see that Tanmay did not get into any trouble, because he too had participated in Samay Raina's show India's Got Latent. Comedian Kunal Kamra had sung a song commenting on the leader of a political party in one of his shows. Kunal Kamra had said in the style of the song, 'Thane ki rickshaw, beard on the face, glasses in the eyes, hai.... Ek Jhalak Dikhalaye Kabhi, Guwahati Me Chhup Jaye. Meri Nazar Se Tum Dekho, Gaddar Nazar Woh Aaye...' People are connecting his sarcasm to the leader, due to which there is an uproar in the whole country.

Kunal Kamra refused to apologize

After the clip went viral on social media, Kunal Kamra's studio where the show was recorded was vandalised. A police case was also filed against Kamra and he was asked to apologise but he flatly refused.

The comedian told the police that he has no regrets about his comments made during the show and would only apologise if the court asked him to do so. However, Kamra said he would follow the law. Meanwhile, Kamra has also applied for anticipatory bail.
