Six accused arrested


He said that along with this, lathicharge was done wherever needed during the ruckus and tear gas was used. While reacting to this matter, Gujarat Home Minister Harsh Sanghvi said that six accused have been arrested in the case and 27 others are in custody. At present, the investigation of the case is going on. Police is deployed in all areas of Surat. Action will be taken against those who disturb the peace.

 

Harsh Sanghvi said on social media, "CCTV, video visuals, drone visuals and other technical surveillance work is still going on. Strict action will be taken against all the accused. Our team was working all night and is still working to identify the stone pelters and punish them."

 

Surat Police Commissioner Anupam Singh Gehlot said that some people pelted stones at the Ganesh pandal, after which a clash broke out. The police immediately removed them from there. Police has been deployed in the area, lathicharge was done wherever needed and tear gas was used. All the accused who disturbed the peace are being arrested. Around 1,000 policemen have been deployed all around.
