Shimla Masjid News: Himachal Pradesh is known as a peaceful state across the country. However, when the people of the Hindu community gathered in Shimla on Wednesday, there was an uproar here. During this, the people of Himachal Pradesh registered their protest. All these people are calling the mosque built in Sanjauli illegal and were demanding its demolition. Not only this, people associated with the Hindu organization also demand that the police keep an eye on the people coming from outside states and their proper verification should be done. The number of people coming from outside states to Shimla is increasing rapidly. This is spoiling the atmosphere of the area.
How did the big controversy start?
Actually, some people beat up 37-year-old Vikram Singh in Malyana area of Shimla. Vikram Singh suffered serious head injuries in the fight and had to get 14 stitches. Seeing the seriousness of the case, Shimla police took immediate action and arrested the accused. Two of the accused were minors. In the report filed by Vikram Singh in Dhali police station, it was told that he was going home after closing his Lok Mitra Kendra at 8:30 pm on August 30 when a boy was making noise there. When Vikram stopped him, Mohammad Gulnawaz came there with his other friends and surrounded Vikram and started beating him. One boy hit him on the head with a stick.
Six accused named in assault case
Vikram said in the complaint that accused Gulnawaz and his companions beat up Jaipal and also a person named Rajiv Sharma. Dhali police got the injured people treated by making a medico-legal case. According to Shimla police, six accused have been identified in this case of assault. These accused include Gulnawaz 32 years, Sariq 20 years, Saif Ali 23 years, Rohit 23 years, Rehan 17 years and Sameer 17 years. Rehan is from Uttarakhand and all the others are from Muzaffarnagar in Uttar Pradesh. The case is being investigated under the supervision of ASP rank officer Ratan Singh Negi. Police found it to be a case of mutual argument and fight between local shopkeepers and people of Muslim community from outside state, but local people do not believe so.
The matter was also raised in Himachal Pradesh Assembly
After the fight, Bhattakuffar councillor Narendra Thakur and others reached outside the mosque to protest on Sunday. Somehow the police pacified them and sent them back home. After this, the matter was also raised in the Himachal Pradesh Assembly on Wednesday. During the monsoon session of the Himachal Pradesh Assembly, under Rule 62 of the attention motion, Chaupal MLA Balveer Verma and Shimla MLA Harish Janartha raised this issue.
During this discussion, Panchayati Raj and Rural Development Minister in the state government Aniruddha Singh also participated. During this, Aniruddha Singh spoke openly. Aniruddha Singh's words were not thumped by the ruling party, but by the opposition members. This is rarely seen in the assembly. AIMIM President and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi also seemed angry with Aniruddha Singh, to which Rana Aniruddha Singh gave a befitting reply.
What did Anirudh Singh say?
Cabinet Minister Aniruddh Singh clearly said that the mosque in Sanjauli area of Shimla has been built illegally. Its ownership rights are also with the Himachal Pradesh government. Occupation of this land is also illegal. In such a situation, the question arises that how such a big construction took place on government land. He said that the map should not have been passed on ordinary government land. He said that in other places, electricity and water are cut off for illegal construction, but this did not happen here. He said that this raises many questions.
The case has been going on for 14 years
Anirudh Singh said that since 2010, 44 hearings have been held in this case. In 2023, the Municipal Corporation realises that the respondent in this should be the Waqf Board and not a single person. He said that this is extremely irresponsible. He said that even when this matter was under consideration, illegal construction was done here. Anirudh Singh said that if the mosque is illegal, it should be demolished. He clarified that this is not an issue of temple, mosque and any other religious institution, but it is an issue of legal and illegal. Anirudh Singh said that he also takes full responsibility for the protest that took place outside the mosque on Sunday.
‘6357 sq ft illegal construction’
Rural Development Minister Aniruddh Singh revealed that so far 6 thousand 357 square feet of illegal construction has been done. What is even more worrying is that in the year 2023, the corporation comes to know about the person who was coming for the hearing of the case that he has nothing to do with the case. Did the officers of the corporation not check his papers? Suddenly in the year 2023, the corporation comes to know that the person against whom the case is going on cannot become a defendant. Now this case has been transferred to the Waqf Board.
The minister said that the land which is said to belong to the defendant is owned by the government. The defendant is only an occupant. The Rural Development Minister urged the CM to remove the occupancy from that land. It should be investigated who owns the land. Is he authorized to submit the map?
What does the mosque's Maulvi say?
Maulvi Shahzad Imam of Sanjauli Mosque has also reacted to this entire matter. He said that this mosque was built here before 1947. However, it was a small mosque at that time. Construction took place here after 2007. He claims that no new construction has taken place here after 2015. This matter is pending with the Commissioner and the Waqf Board is fighting it.
What does former Chief Minister Jairam Thakur have to say?
Former Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Jairam Thakur is also in favour of taking legal action in the matter. During a conversation with ABP News, Jairam Thakur said that the ministers of the government themselves are admitting that this is illegal construction. In such a situation, action should be taken on this. Jairam Thakur says that the changing demography in the entire country along with Himachal Pradesh is a matter of concern. This issue also needs to be taken seriously. Jairam Thakur said that this is not a communal issue, but a matter of right and wrong.
The case will be heard on Saturday
Now the hearing in this case is to be held on Saturday by the Municipal Corporation Commissioner. The Municipal Corporation Commissioner is Bhupendra Atri. Now all eyes are on this case. The state government does not want to get embarrassed in this case in any way. Now this issue has also come up at the national level. In such a situation, there is a lot of pressure on the Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu government. The government's own ministers are talking about settling the matter as soon as possible. Now all eyes are on the hearing of this case on Saturday.
