Himachal Pradesh News: Shimla's 200-year-old Kanlog cemetery will be rejuvenated. The historical property under Kanlog ward is spread over 30 bighas. During the British rule, the bodies of the British were buried in the cemetery. The view and environment around the Kanlog cemetery is very beautiful. The cemetery in the middle of Shimla city is going to become a center of attraction.
The Shimla Municipal Corporation has started the work of cleaning the cemetery. There is a plan to build a Waste to Wonder Park in the coming time. The Shimla Municipal Corporation is also going to take suggestions from the common people. After the renovation, the cemetery will look new. Cleaning work is going on in the cemetery since Thursday.
The mayor arrived to clean up with the common people
Mayor Surendra Chauhan said that the historical cemetery will look new. He participated in the cleaning along with the common people. The property dispute case was going on in the court. Now the decision has come in favor of Shimla Municipal Corporation. Therefore, the cleaning work is being done at a fast pace. Shimla Municipal Corporation is going to tender for cleaning. The focus will be on the maintenance of the property spread over 30 bighas.
Shimla Municipal Corporation sought suggestions from the people
There is a plan to develop the cemetery from tourism point of view. A meditation centre along with a bicycle track will also be built in the cemetery. Mayor Surendra Chauhan has invited suggestions from the people in developing the property. Recalling his student life, he said that he used to visit the cemetery during school holidays. The atmosphere of the cemetery is very peaceful. Beautification will be done after cleaning. He said that in the coming days, Kanlog cemetery will prove to be a heritage for the Municipal Corporation.
