Talking about the possibility of a sequel to Ayan Mukerji's 2013 hit film, Ranbir said that he knows that many fans want to see a part 2, but he doesn't think the film needs a part 2. Ranbir said, "Many of you want a part 2, but there are so many new films, new directors and new ideas that can be worked on. I think the ending of 'Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani' was perfect. So I don't think there is any need for a part 2."

During the same conversation, Ranbir also talked about Ayan Mukerji's film "Brahmastra 2." He said, "Brahmastra 2 is in the works, we will start shooting that film very soon, sooner than you expect." This further increased the excitement around the film.
