According to the Santacruz Observatory, the day's temperature reached 40 degrees Celsius, 7.6 degrees above the normal for this day last year. This is the highest temperature ever recorded in March.
Mumbai recorded temperatures of 38.9°C on March 5, 38.7°C on March 4 and 38.4°C on March 9. The Colaba Observatory, on the other hand, recorded a temperature of 35.4°C, which is 4.3°C above normal for the day.
Yellow alert issued for Mumbai
According to the International Monetary Fund (IMD), a yellow alert has been issued for Mumbai for Wednesday, with the weather forecast to remain hot. Temperatures in some parts of Mumbai soared above 40 degrees Celsius, mainly in the Ram Mandir area of the western suburbs, with temperatures reaching 42.4 degrees Celsius and 41.6 degrees Celsius in Vikhroli.
Temperature will rise in UP
The weather in Uttar Pradesh is expected to be mainly clear and dry today. Temperatures are expected to rise across most parts of the state, leading to bright sunshine and heat during the day. Maximum temperatures are expected to range from 34°C to 36°C, and minimum temperatures are expected to range from 19°C to 20°C. There is no significant chance of rain in the state at this time.
